What is the UniStem Day?

Since 2009 European scientists teach school pupils on UniStem Day the latest findings in stem cell research. Participants are given the opportunity to discover the world of stem cell research by joining various activities. They learn about the state-of-the-art, get insight into a researchers daily routines, explore the prerequists for scientific breakthroughs and discuss societal expectation. Lectures, discussions and lab visit teach school pupils about concepts and methods applied in stem cell research. Furthermore, they learn that science requires a great deal of curiosity and patience as well as careful and accurate work and how much fun it is.

The German Stem Cell Network (GSCN) initiated the UniStem Day in Germany in 2016. REBIRTH participated in 2016 and 2017. In 2018 UniStemDay will take place on 16th March.


Autumn Academy for Teachers - REBIRTH for teachers

What is the Autumn Academy for Teachers?

The Autumn Academy for Teachers is offered biennially since 2009 by the REBIRTH Cluster of Excellence and the QUEST-Leibniz Research School in collaboration with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education. It addresses teachers in the life and natural sciences. Participants learn about latest research findings, concepts and methods and are given opportunity to dicuss those with their colleagues. The aim is to transmit fascination for science to the schools and get young people into science in the long term.
