Biosketch:

U. Martin (*1967), PhD, W3 professor for ‘Cardiorespiratory Tissue Engineering’ and head of the Leibniz Research Laboratories for Biotechnology and Artificial Organs (LEBAO) at MHH is vice coordinator of REBIRTH, dean of the PhD program ‘Regenerative Sciences’ and current senior president of the German Stem Cell Network (GSCN). His research focuses on induced pluripotent stem cells, the genetic engineering of pluripotent stem cells and their differentiation into cardiovascular and respiratory lineages, the development of iPSC-based cellular therapies, as well as disease modelling of and drug development for respiratory disorders.
