A. Heisterkamp (*1972), PhD, is W3 professor for ‘Biophotonics’ at the Institute of Quantum Optics (LUH), head of the department ‘Biomaterial Testing’ (NIFE) andmember of the excecutive board of REBIRTH. Moreover, he is closely involved with the biomedical optics department at the Laser Zentrum Hannover, at which is he a member of the board of scientific directors. He is an expert in biomedical optics, with focus on laser based imaging and manipulation of cells and tissues, with special interest in non-invasive imaging and diagnostics as well as optical transfection, nanoparticles, laser-based nanosurgery and optogenetics.
