Biosketch:

M. Stiesch (*1969), DMD,is W3 Professor and Head of the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry and Biomedical Materials Science at MHH. She is coordinator of the research consortium BIOFABRICATION for NIFE and director of the section ‘Implant-related Infections’ (supported by Volkswagen Foundation / State of Lower Saxony), current president of the DGPro (German Society of Prosthodontics and Dental Materials), and Member of the review board (Fachkollegium) medicine of the German research foundation (DFG). Research of M. Stiesch focuses on medical biofilm formation, implant-associated infections, biomaterial development / biological functionalization, associations between chronic infections, senescence and endothelial regeneration and preventive strategies.
