Prospective Students


In order to be eligible for the program you need to hold a  master’s degree or equivalent in life sciences, human or veterinary medicine, or  in an engineering discipline. Furthermore, you need to have research experience,  be highly motivated and have a well-documented interest in regenerative  sciences.

Applications to the PhD Program are only accepted when submitted via the HBRS on-line application system. Please register and submit your application at the following web-site:

Application Guidelines


The online application platform is jointly used by the three annual international PhD Programs of Hanoover Biomedical Research School (HBRS): Molecular Medicine, Infection Biology, and Regenerative Sciences. You will be asked for your preferred 1st and 2nd choice.

General Information

About half of the students accepted into the program receive a stipend paid for by the program; the other half is paid by the respective research group. Thus, all students accepted into the program receive approximately € 1200 per month.
