Reducing scar size after heart attack

Scientists at Hannover Medical School (MHH) have discovered a previously unknown growth factor that improves cardiac muscle healing after a heart attack, so that even a major infarction results in only a small scar. They published their findings in Circulation, the prestigious journal of the American Heart Association.
